Dr. Stella D. Calobrisi is a double board certified pediatric and adolescent dermatologist. She provides personalized, compassionate, and outstanding medical dermatology care to infants, children and adolescents. Dr Stella D. Calobrisi began practicing pediatric, adolescent and adult dermatology in Boca Raton, Florida in 1999. She graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University with Honors with a B.S in Psychology in 1985. After working as a research associate for two years in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at The Univeristy of Pittsburgh Medical Center, she entered medical school. She graduated from New York Medical College in 1991 with honors. There she was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. In addition, she was awarded the Lawrence B. Slobody M.D. Award for Excellence in Pediatrics, the Upjohn Achievement Award for Excellence in Clinical Skills, and the Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Citation for Scholastic Achievement.

 

After her internship in internal medicine at the University of Cincinnati, she completed her residency in Adult and Pediatric Dermatology at the University of Cincinnati, where she served as Chief Resident. Subsequently, she completed a fellowship in Pediatric and Adolescent Dermatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin as a Mayo Clinic Foundation Scholar.

 

Dr. Stella D. Calobrisi had the privilege of joining the Mayo Clinic Foundation Department Dermatology as their first fellowship trained Pediatric and Adolescent Dermatologist on Staff where she helped establish the Division of Pediatric and Adolescent Dermatology in Rochester, MN. She was a consultant in both the Departments of Dermatology and Pediatrics. As an Assistant Professor of Dermatology, she enjoyed teaching the medical students as well as dermatology, pediatric and family medicine residents. However, she would tell you that one of her greatest achievement at the Mayo Clinic was being awarded the Teacher of the Year Award by her residents.

 

 

After nearly 5 years in Minnesota, Dr. Calobrisi and her husband returned to sunny south Florida to be closer their family. She established her private pediatric and adolescent dermatology practice in Boca Raton where she became the first Board Certified Pediatric and Adolescent Dermatologist in the area. She is fluent in Spanish and Italian and has conversational skills in Portuguese which affords her the opportunity to care for a very diverse patient population. Dr. Calobrisi is passionate about teaching medical students and maintains her connection to them by being an Affiliate Assistant Professor of Clinical Biomedical Science at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, Florida Atlantic University. In her free time, Dr. Calobrisi enjoys spending time with her husband, Fernando, who is also a physician, their daughter, and their two German shorthaired pointers.
